Bun Bang Fai, often known as the Rocket Festival, takes place across much of Northeast Thailand and also in Laos. In Thailand, this high-energy celebration is held throughout rural Isaan, centring around giant homemade rockets, parades, music, dancing, and plenty of drinking. It’s chaotic, unapologetically local, and deeply rooted in tradition—where ancient beliefs about rain and fertility meet full-on village celebration.
